Frank Loomis, age 78, of Edgewater, died Sunday, December 24, 2017 at Halifax Health Hospice, Edgewater.
Born in Lowville, New York, Frank came to the area in 2015 from Boynton Beach. He attended Edgewater Alliance Church and was a member of the Miami Police Veteran Association (M.P.V.A.). He loved boating, fishing, and golf carting with his dog Tobi. Frank was an avid NASCAR and Yankees fan. He was known as the “Mayor” because he knew so many people in all walks of life and enjoyed visiting with everyone. He was known for his great sense of humor and ability to play practical jokes. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.
Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Sharon; two daughters, Reneé (Carroll) Moore of Iva South Carolina and Chelsea (Brian) Hathhorn of Washington, Indiana; one son, Rory Loomis, of Edgewater; three granddaughters, Morgan Brink of North Carolina, Caitlin (Derek) Yebra of Atlanta, Georgia and Reegan Loomis of Leesburg, Georgia; one grandson, Riley Loomis of Leesburg, Georgia; son-in-law, Mike Davis of Statesville, North Carolina. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents and daughter, Kimberlee Davis
Celebration of Life will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 30, 2017 at Settle-Wilder New Smyrna Beach Chapel with Pastor Kyle McQuillen, Edgewater Alliance Church, officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
